What technology might be of interest to seniors?

While there are many technologies, such as aerospace, automotive and biotech, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is often what is meant when people speak of 'technology' or 'tech'.
The pervasive nature of ICT, especially mobile technology, has made it a part of everyday life and it is the subject of this site.
Why is this technology of interest? Essentially it is that many ICT devices may be used by seniors to improve and enhance their lifestyle.

The devices that might be of most interest and are discussed in this website include:

  • Tablet or iPad

In addition there are two important principles to learn about any of these devices:

  1. Your identity details and personal information must be protected.
  2. Your personal data (documents, pictures etc) must be protected

So whatever device you are using you must always ensure that it is used in a way that ensures good Security, Privacy and safe storage for all your activities.

A personal computer or PC may be referred to as a desktop computer, All-in-one Computer, laptop or just a PC.

It is important too to realise that the power of these devices is most fully achieved by connection to the internet to allow communication and information to be accessed.
